Reading Enhances Areas That Lack In Functional Illiteracy

During the height of the agricultural era and parts of the industrial era, jobs were based on skills and manual labor. Reading was not always a prerequisite for working in areas of farming, fishing, some factory and manufacturing jobs. As the job forecast changes, reading, writing and some type of continued education is an absolute necessity for job placement and advancement. Just as summer reading programs are designed to help our children with summer learning loss during their vacation break, adults should continue to engage in ongoing reading programs, educational and skill building development to avoid frequent learning loss.
