Embracing Gratitude on Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day is a day for celebrating gratitude.Typically, many individuals associate the origins of Thanksgiving Day to the gathering and feast between the Native Americans and the Pilgrims. Wikipedia mentions that Thanksgiving began as a tradition of celebrating the harvest of the year. As we take a moment to truly commemorate this day, let us be mindful that it is not about the parades or games on television or even the blowout, door buster sales that retailers are advertising across the country, but about simple gratitude.

All too often we get caught up in the whirlwind of distracting activities that can quickly divert the reason why we celebrate this holiday. As we take a moment to reflect on what we are grateful for and why, those moments will turn into a lifetime of precious memories that cannot be erased.

To you and yours on this Thanksgiving Day, keep peace in your spirit, love in your heart and joy in your soul.
