Today we are celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Human Rights Day! Human Rights Day is held on December 10th every year. This is the date the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, proclaiming its principles as the “common standard of achievement for all peoples and all nations.” Human Rights Day is celebrated globally, at the headquarters of the High Commissioner’s office in Geneva, in New York and in more than 50 other countries.
Thank goodness we live in a country where human rights are observed! Click here to get more information about how you can join in the celebration! The month of December is also Universal Human Rights Month, however we don’t have to stop the celebration when this month is over. Let’s do it daily!
