I don’t need to only indulge in rich, decadent chocolate when Valentine’s Day rolls around. Actually, one of my favorite chocolates throughout the year is Hershey’s Kisses. Yep, no frills just that solid chocolate candy, in the shape of a drop wrapped in silver foil, with the tiny label sticking out the top!
Hershey’s is the largest chocolate manufacturer in North America. Founded by Milton S. Hershey in 1894 as the Hershey Chocolate Company, a subsidiary of his Lancaster Caramel Company, he located his company near Derry Township, Pennsylvania. According to Wikipedia, by the summer of 1905, with the milk from nearby dairy farms and the spirit of hard-working local people, his new factory started turning out delicious milk chocolate. Its headquarters are in Hershey, Pennsylvania, which is also home to Hershey’s Chocolate World. Hershey’s products are sold in over sixty countries worldwide. Hershey is also a member of the World Cocoa Foundation.
If you are a Hershey’s fan, what’s your favorite chocolate and do you have a chocolate recipe that you use Hershey’s chocolate in that you care to share with us? If Hershey’s is not your favorite brand (considering that you eat chocolate), tell us what brand you prefer.
The way I savor Hershey’s Kisses, is to pop one in my mouth and allow the chocolate to melt and seduce my taste buds! Simple pleasures are the best! Oh happy, happy Hershey’s Chocolate Day! Yep, I am chocolate wasted about right now! SWEET!!!
