Craft your own felt hat or wear one that you purchased, because today we celebrate National Felt Hat Day! That’s right, we celebrate the felt hat on September 15, during National Fall Hat Month, which is observed throughout the month of September. Felt is the oldest form of fabric known to humankind and felt hats were popularized dating back to the early 1900’s.

According to Wikipedia, felt is a textile that is produced by matting, condensing and pressing fibres (fibers) together. Felt can be made of natural fibres (fibers) such as wool or synthetic fibres (fibers) such as acrylic. There are many different types of felts for industrial, technical, designer and craft applications.

So pull out your felt hat and vamp it today. Better yet, since September is National Fall Hat Month, why not boast your fashion swagger, by wearing a hat throughout the month! Happy National Felt Hat Day!
