Who is your favorite magician? Personally, I’m a David Copperfield fan. Have you reached a writing drought? Then find your writing magic today as we celebrate National Magic Week. Yes, such a week exists and is celebrated from October 25 through October 31. To make the week more interesting, National Magic Day falls on October 31, the day we also celebrate Halloween.
The Society of American Magicians has recognized the anniversary of the death of Harry Houdini, for more than forty years, with a special week celebrated throughout the United States and Canada. It is known that Houdini, a past President of the Society of American Magicians passed away on October 31st. Spooky huh? Magicians throughout the country are encouraged to participate in the magical activities. The Society of American Magicians promote the art of magic by going to different places like hospitals, orphanages and nursing care facilities to perform.
For writers, this is also an ideal time to get some great ideas to write a blog, article, poem or short story surrounding the theme of National Magic Week. So add a little magic to your wand or hat and instead of pulling out a rabbit, put out some great magical compositions.
