It’s National Hot Dog Day during National Hot Dog Month

hot-dog-with-cabbageWhat’s your favorite hotdog? Kansas City, Sonoran, Michigan Coney Island, West Virginia, New York or Southern style? Do you prefer an alternative¬†dog, like a vegetarian or vegan dog? Today we celebrate National Hot Dog Day during National Hot Dog Month. The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council estimates Americans consume 20 billion hot dogs a year, which works out to be about 70 hot dogs per person each year. Hot dogs are right up there with baseball and apple pie. It’s a favorite concession stand and grilling treat in the United States.
