Celebrating National Steak au Poivre Day on Food Porn Friday

Today is National Steak Au Poivre Day. Steak Au Poivre or pepper steak is a French dish that consists of a steak coated and cooked with cracked peppercorns. Filet Mignon is traditionally the steak of choice for this dish. The peppercorns form a crust on the steak when it’s cooked. There are a variety of sides dishes to serve with Steak Au Poivre, such as steamed vegetables, mashed potatoes or Pommes Frites.
