OK, so during the holidays we know that we will deviate from our diet, but what the heck, I say why not? Your holiday party or family gathering wouldn’t be complete without eggnog, that classic rich, chilled, sweetened, creamy dairy-based beverage. Also known as milk punch or egg milk punch, you can take this holiday drink to a different level by adding your favorite spirits and spike it to suit your taste.

This easy eggnog recipe courtesy of Alton Brown from the Food Network only takes 15 minutes to prepare. This food scientist also shows how to prepare this holiday drink on his easy to follow, yet entertaining video. Cheers! Happy #FoodPornFriday

*The Food Network Kitchen suggest caution in consuming raw and lightly cooked eggs due to the slight risk of salmonella or other food-borne illness. To reduce this risk, they recommend you use only fresh, properly refrigerated, clean grade A or AA eggs with intact shells, and avoid contact between the yolks or whites and the shell.
