The Peace You Give

Global Warming. Now, this message isn’t about the overall temperature increase of the earth’s atmosphere generally attributed to the greenhouse effect caused by pollutants. Nope, this message about a different type of global warming, the intense rising, gushing, and overheated temperatures within the irrational and inhumane temperament of humanity we are witnessing around the world.

How can we be the bridge builders of peace? How can we change the narrative to shift from the diabolical mindsets and behaviors wreaking havoc on our mental health, bodies, spirits, and lifestyles critical to our survival? As I look out my window while writing this morning, watching the birds, squirrels, geese, rabbits, and other wildlife going about their daily routines, I don’t see any of them dropping bombs on each other or armed with weapons of mass destruction to take each other out because they want to take over the territory in my backyard. At this moment, as with other moments each day, I look at the wildlife going about its business amongst the trees, in the air, and on the ground, not fighting over acorns or worms, and I think to myself, what a wonderful world. I don’t see the squirrels kicking the birds out of the trees or vice versa. I don’t see the geese using scare tactics to make the ducks flee from their aquatic habitat, although they can be territorial at times.

It may seem like our peace missions are futile, but I don’t believe that. I refuse to believe that our peaceful efforts have fallen by the wayside. Give peace hope, and give peace a chance. Let’s not get distracted by the demagogury of arrogant bullies and narcissists because obviously, they have a diabolical game plan, no matter how insane and asinine it may be. They also don’t realize how much their bigoty actions affect the survival of the earth, the one they count on to live in. They don’t realize how much their arrogancy can explode in their face. In the same breath, we don’t realize how much power we hold in our hands, heads, and hearts. We have to continue mobilizing our peace efforts in the best way we can, and with what we have (whether it’s our pens, keyboards, music, or voices).

The more they keep taunting division and chaos, the more we push back with the strategy of unity and peace. We’re not wimping out. We are raising our voices and our power an octave higher by standing our ground with compassion, empathy, and moral character. Stand up for Mother Earth. Stand up for humanity.

What a wonderful world. To see beyond the chaos, confusion, bitterness, hatred, injustice dancing before us takes guts, it takes hope, it takes compassion, it takes empathy, it takes courage, it takes love, it takes patience, it takes joy, it takes optimism, and it takes a peace-driven spirit to stand up and recognize just how powerful our power is. We have to be that bridge over troubled waters, and troubled lands.

Greedy gains will inevitably exist in barrenness, and kill itself.

  1. I agree with you, Kym. Peace and unity will not come from any political party or any politician. They have their own agenda. It has to come from THE PEOPLE. Have a beautiful and peaceful day, my friend!

  2. Important question to ask–how can we be builders of peace. I believe it starts internally first , next in our own homes, and built on that foundation, to the rest of our communities.

  4. Kathryn, it does start with us and it germinates from within. If you do not genuinely embody peace, you cannot have an impact on sharing it with others. Peace is not something you act out, peace is part of your character and conduct.

Thanks so much for chiming in my friend!!! 🙏🏼💖🥰

  5. What a wonderful piece, Kym. It’s so important for us to reflect back love and peace, especially during the most trying times. In this way, we create the possibility of disrupting egoistic violence and destruction. Bravo, kindred! We all need to take that stand. 🌹✨💕🌸💫🥰🌺😘

Politicians will never bring peace because their selfish agendas are all about power and control. And to get power and control, they sow division while claiming to fight against it. They bring man against women, race against race, it’s so diabolical!

If there’s one thing I’ve learned the hard way, it’s that politicians really do not want peace among man because if we all united as one, they would no longer have platforms to stand on. They’d be out of a job!

Of peace and love are to have a chance, it’s up to people like you and me!

Thank you so much for this powerful and much-needed post, girlie! This is another one of your mike drop moments! 🎤🎤🎤🌞💖💐🌺🕊🦋

You are doggone right about that. Sometimes it seems like folks love chaos, so they can pretend to be the peace-keepers. UGH!!! But we aren’t crazy and we can certainly thwart such pretentiousness! I appreciate you my warrior!!! 🤸🏼‍♀️🏋🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️

  10. A great post Kym. When hope dies, peace dies with it! Many are struggling to survive, but in almost every interview they say they have not given up hope. An example to all of us!
