Mothers Have a Way of Being Empowered by Curiosity and Observation

Curiosity is a quality related to inquisitive thinking, such as exploration, investigation, and learning, which is evident by observation in humans and other animals. Curiosity had nothing to do with killing the cat, it simply empowered her.

Oh Mighty Lioness

Like a haute couture runway model on the catwalk
her prowl, deliberate, poised, and with purpose
she doesn’t simply exist in the wild, she flourishes
running towards danger that makes her want to run away

her feistiness is cool, cautious, and uninhibited
a warrior and hunter, swift, leaping, and powerful
compassionate and protective den mother for her cubs
to ensnare her, your efforts may be futile and deadly

she is the one animal most feared by the lion
to pique her curiosity it didn’t kill the cat
it taught her how to live and survive
molding her into a mighty Lioness in the jungle!

Somewhere around the world, someone is laughing
somewhere around the world, someone is crying
somewhere around the world, someone is celebrating
somewhere around the world, someone is dying
somewhere around the world, someone is hungry
somewhere around the world, someone is suffering
somewhere around the world, someone is lonely
somewhere around the world, someone is tormented
somewhere around the world, someone is dreaming
somewhere around the world, someone is imagining
somewhere around the world, someone is curious
somewhere around the world, someone is creating.

Sometimes we take things for granted, not realizing that we are. Around the world, somewhere out there, people are doing a multitude of things, feeling a multitude of emotions in a multitude of situations. Love will see us through if we let our light shine to overpower the darkness, making room for the empowering things to come.

Curiosity, Courage, Warrior

I decided to bring a snippet from a 2017 post I wrote after a brief exchange – conversation – debate with someone regarding the difference between nosiness and curiosity. This individual said the two are basically the same, except curiosity is a fancier way of saying a person is nosy. Oh, but you know I had to beg to differ.

“Being nosy is prying into other people’s business, meddling, being intrusive, and snooping, oftentimes gossiping about what they find out,” I said. To me, curiosity is more of a desire to learn something new that enhances one’s intellect and not about poking your nose in other people’s business for annoying reasons.

So honey, just so you’ll know, curiosity didn’t kill the cat, it merely educated her to be the badass that she is today! The next time someone calls you nosy when you are merely being curious, tell them don’t start nothin’, it won’t be nothin’. Just sayin’. So for all of you purrrrfect felines out there, this one is for you! 😻

Here Comes the Sun

What is it about the rising of the sun,

the early morning presence that brings creation to life?

I stand here, having opened my blinds

to the rising day star with heat permeating through the window,

resting on my face in a blanket of serenity.

What is it about the rising sun,

that glows so vibrantly in a golden flame of fire,

in a statement of unmistakable strength and curiosity?

Have you ever noticed the sun’s effects in the sky, the subtle pastel hues painted and unfolding in the morning, and its bold trail of colors nestling on the evening horizon? Oh, what a miraculous sight to behold.

Never Lose Your Sense of Wonder

At times I find myself being just a little too serious, too adultish, and a little predictable. When I get into these moods, I tend to become aggravated with myself, because I begin to feel left out, life continues to evolve, life continues to move on, and sooner or later life comes to an end.

I began thinking about my quest for adventure when I was young and I have childhood scars to prove it. I was energized, always curious, always wanting to learn something new and exciting, always wanting to share my discoveries with all my friends, family, and anyone who was crazy enough to listen.

I look at the lives of so many people I am around, individuals who have some amazing talents, natural God-given gifts, and some incredible intellect. So many of these people I know never reach or see their full potential. Perhaps I am one of those individuals because I sometimes fall into a slump and say, “Why bother? What difference would it make?”

We weren’t put here, placed in this life to merely exist, but to live and produce. Some of us did not have the luxury of certain privileges or come from prominent families or circumstances. But each of us has been given something uniquely ours, and it is our duty and responsibility to exercise the right to contribute and leave this world a much better place than when we got here.

We should always be curious, embrace adventure, continue to create, understand our purpose, strive for that great potential of being our best, and excel with passion. Never lose your sense of wonder. Practice doing something, no matter how small, each day and tap into your curiosity. Explore and embrace your sense of wonder. 🤗 I am recharged and refocused!

Never Lose Your Zing!

When I was little, I was quite a curious, risk-taking, fun-loving, observant and ‘don’t even get in the box thinker’ type of child. While at times it landed me in a little hot water with my parents, it somehow shaped me into asking some questions I wanted answers to and led me on a path of exploration to find out the answer if it didn’t interest or warrant an answer from the person or persons I questioned.

As we age and as we naturally tend to slow down, all too often we lose the adventurous side that made us thrive in our earlier developmental years unless there are extenuating circumstances affecting us. When we allow our zing, that zest for life to wither and die, simply because we enter a new stage of age, we find that we too wither away and find ourselves shut off from the gift of life, while losing our purpose and just die.

According to the definition of zing, it means energy, enthusiasm, or liveliness. I campaign not to lose my zing especially since it tries to slip away when you’re over 60. While you may have limitations in some ways, you are not limited in all ways. Don’t simply exist until you die, just because the status quo shows evidence of it, for thinking about retirement by a certain age. Even if you’re knocked down, you’re not knocked out. LIVE! Continue to be a positive changemaker and don’t allow yourself to be shortcircuited in your thinking, contributions, and creativity! 🙂

Guess What? Curiosity Didn’t Kill All of the Cats

Cats, Curiosity

They said curiosity killed the cat. How very sad.

What they didn’t know, is that the other eight lives

learned the rules of engagement,

equipped themselves with tactical gear

for better covert operations

became more observant,

and lived to operate curiosity with greater finesse.

MEOW!

Did Curiosity Really Kill The Cat?

Curiosity, Courage, Warrior

When we hear the idiom, “Curiosity killed the cat,” we think about the term used to warn someone about the danger of being nosy, snooping or prying in business or affairs where it does not belong.

Curiosity, however, is a quality related to inquisitive thinking such as exploration, investigation, and learning, which is evident by observation in humans and other animals. Curiosity is a quality in which those who enjoy the process of learning new, empowering things and continued education, possess such an insatiable and adventurous appetite within their mind, body, and spirit that we watch them soar like an eagle. C’mon, aren’t you the least bit curious?
