Today, I am sending a shoutout to all of my friends who are April born. While today is tabbed as April Fool’s Day,  you my dear hearts are not.

What a fabulous diamond you are
no matter how raw you may be
roughness chipped away, you rise, a blazing star
shining brightly for all to see.

Another year of laughter, joy, and fun
Like free-spirit children playing under the sun
and as vibrant colors glowing from a rainbow’s arch
There’s nothing like celebrating your birthday in March.

365 Days Went by So Fast!

Like a kid, excited to get up to see what Santa left under the Christmas Tree on Christmas morning, I am so excited to rise up this morning to open my very generous, and blessed gift of “life” y’all. It’s been 365 days since I celebrated my birthday and today marks my first day to enjoy the next 365 Happy Kymmie Day birthday celebrations, that’s if God spares me to see #65 this time next year (fingers crossed). 🤞🏼

Like many of you, having lost so many close friends, family members, and colleagues, it seemed like grief wasn’t letting up. So, I began to savor life like a precious gem every day. Does this mean I don’t have my sulking moments and those days where I want to pull every strand of someone’s hair out, or knock someone’s socks off? Honey, you already know the answer to that. 😜 The past few years have been especially challenging since so many family members close to my age were leaving us and losing my only sister and best friend a few days after my birthday last year was like letting all of the wind out of my balloon. I’m still in recovery mode. Yet, as reality shows us, we will lose people who are precious to us more often than we want or expect to. But we are still here for a reason, which means we are still resilient people and our work here is not done.

This is why I embrace life and continue to be the best person I can try to be, by serving my purpose as God would have me to serve it. The tears I shed today will hopefully be tears from laughing so hard until I can barely catch my breath. So my dawwwlinkkks, today, as I kick off my birthday/holiday/living life to the fullest weekend, I wish all of you a joyful and FANtabulous day and weekend too. Even if it isn’t a special occasion, celebrate anyway…just because you can. I am taking a siesta from WordPress for a couple of days to eat, drink, be merry, and then repeat, and repeat, and repeat! This means for the next few days, I won’t be eating healthy, unless it’s from the grapes in my wine! Stay safe y’all! Ya hear? I’m out! 🎂

Another Happy Milestone 🎂

Happy birthday

It’s hard to believe that I am celebrating another year of seeing a blessed birthday. I know there is a quote that says if a woman tells her age, then she will tell anything. Well, I have to disagree with that because after watching so many relatives, colleagues, and friends who passed away so young, and some who died so suddenly, I can’t express enough how grateful I am to see and experience this gift of life I’ve been given for another year’s celebration. Plus, dawlink, there are just some secrets too saucy to tell. So that means, I ain’t tellin’ any and everything. Some things are going with me to my grave, unless I have some last minute bedside confession!

So at 63-years-mature, (old ain’t got nothin’ to do with this) I’m finding a different level of meaning, purpose, and joy even in the midst of some unthinkable challenges I never thought I would have to face. In the same sense, I also realize that things could be far worse. Today, I am grateful, humble, and happy. Also, I got on my dancin’ shoes and you know what that means? I’m a dancin’ machine for the next 365 days! 👠👗💃🏼 Whoo-hoooooooo!!! I’m HAPPY! 😁🥳🥰

🎈 I Stand Today with a Renewed Spirit 🎈

zcool.com.cn, Balloons

I stand here today with bold and fearless fervor. To begin this new day, the first of a new year for me is a time God predestined for me sixty-two years ago.

I haven’t accomplished all that I set out to do yet, maybe I won’t, but remarkably with faith, I have accomplished a lot that I hadn’t planned to do. For that, I am truly grateful for the opportunity to rise above and survive the unexpected trials and tribulations that I faced through the years. I am deeply humbled.

So, as I embark on my days ahead, with what I hope to accomplish, and what I will strive to achieve, I will walk on this journey with a renewed mind, body, and spirit embodying TRUTH-FAITH-TRUST and a determined heart!

Happy Birthday To Me and Life in the Carolinas!

Happy Birthday From Behind the Pen Blog

Today I joyously celebrated my birthday. I am so grateful to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday, but more importantly, I am grateful for people, who took a moment to simply stop to acknowledge the anniversary of my life. I try not to merely exist in a world that is so full of hope and promise, but to contribute to the beauty of creation that resonates around us whether we pay attention to it or not.

There are moments where we simply have to pause and take in the scenery and the splendor that God made available free of charge. I stand in awe every single day of His magnificent beauty and the profound way He spoke things into existence! WOW! While I have no idea whether or not I will see another birthday, I do know that I will cherish every moment of breath that I inhale and exhale, all because I made it to see this day and celebrate it like no other.

My dear friend, Carl White, host of Life in the Carolinas TV Show sent me a beautiful, inspirational poem for my birthday that I want to share with everyone! If you live in the Carolinas, however, be sure to check your local listing for when his show airs in your area. Carl’s personal sentiments, uniquely evident in these very special poetic words he wrote to me for my birthday, helps me to keep a positive perspective on the grand scheme of life!

Carl’s Birthday Ode

Good Thoughts
Good Memories
Good Intentions
Good Celebrations
Good Friends with only Love to Offer
Good Years Passed
Good Years Ahead

With all of the wonderful wishes that so many beautiful people sent my way for my birthday, as this poem gives a clear reminder of the “Now,” the “Present” and “The Celebration,” I have no choice but to continue living passionately! Thank you Carl for these beautiful sentiments! You are indeed beautiful, because that’s the type of spirit you possess!
