A Time to Remember on Memorial Day

Honoring our Fallen Heroes

Today is Memorial Day. As you indulge in this day off basking in the great outdoors, grilling, frolicking at the beach or simply chilling at home, don’t overlook or make light of the purpose we are commemorating this special day.

Memorial Day, also known as Decoration Day is a federal holiday in the United States for remembering and honoring people who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. The holiday, which is currently observed every year on the last Monday of May, is considered the unofficial start of the summer vacation in the U.S.

Be safe out there and celebrate this holiday responsibly!

Memorial Day, formerly known as Decoration Day is celebrated on the last Monday in May. As we embrace the freedom to celebrate this holiday, attend parades, and gather for family cookouts lets take some time today to sincerely remember and pay tribute to our fallen soldiers and unsung military heroes.

In the land of the free, Memorial Day (Decoration Day) is not a day designed for commercialism, but for remembering and honoring our heroic fallen soldiers who sacrificed much through their service to our country in the pursuit of freedom and justice for all. Let’s not forget these precious lives, who served valiantly in our armed forces. In silence for a few minutes, salute the boldness of their patriotism and with respect to the families, they left behind.

We’re Celebrating Memorial Day!

Memorial Day 2013 From Behind the Pen Blog

We take this moment to remember and reflect on the lives that so many brave servicemen and servicewomen sacrificed for our country. Although on Memorial Day we salute our fallen soldiers, we also want to take this opportunity to thank all of the veterans who served our country and  to all of our service personnel  continuing to serve and defend the rights and freedom that we often take for granted in the U.S.

We want to say THANK YOU and we appreciate you. We won’t and cannot forget what you did and continue to do for the United States of America!
