Celebrating Ingenuity and Diversity during National Week of Making

“Makers and builders and doers — of all ages and backgrounds — have pushed our country forward, developing creative solutions to important challenges and proving that ordinary Americans are capable of achieving the extraordinary when they have access to the resources they need.”
– President Obama, National Week of Making Proclamation

From June 17 – 23 we will celebrate the National Week of Making! This nationwide event creates an opportunity for individuals in communities throughout the U.S. to participate in making activities locally, celebrating the innovation, ingenuity, and creativity of Makers. From http://weekofmaking.org/:

Makers are developing new solutions and products to pressing challenges, engaging students in hands-on, interactive learning of STEM, arts, and design and enabling individuals to learn new skills in design, fabrication, and manufacturing. This site was created by Makers to support, encourage, promote, and highlight organizations from around the country who are working to create more opportunities for more people of all ages to make. This was inspired by the President’s call to action to “lift up makers and builders and doers across the country.”

Tinker away, inspire, make, support and celebrate National Week of Making.
