So, You Really Wanna Know What Moves Me?

Okay, so last month our dear friend Michele Lee Sefton posted a “What Moves You” challenge on her blog. Essentially, the idea is to choose a physical activity that you enjoy doing, and then do it! While there were a few things I knew would make me move, she insisted that it needed to be G-Rated. Gee, thanks Michele. So while I am not officially entering this challenge, I thought it would be fun to think about what moved me to get moving. While writing this, I am sitting at my desk as I think about it and as I took a break, it hit me right there.Β

I get up periodically throughout my day to dance to something on my laptop, then I put my sneakers on (like a kid the colors alone make me move), and then I lubricate my knees by cycling on my manual portable desk peddler as I lift some light weights. The photo below shows a collection of the things that get me moving as I sit working at my desk. It just breaks the monotony of sitting down for an extended period by giving me an injection of energy to keep me moving. So, there you have it, Michele Lee Sefton. All of the elements that make me move throughout the day when working at my desk. Are you moved to move? πŸ€”

  1. Sitting is lethal! You are doing the right thing by getting up and moving throughout the day. And, girl, if I tried to wear those spike heels, I’d fall flat to the floor! I haven’t been able to wear anything like that for years. I commend you for that alone!

  3. Girl Dawn you are so funny, but thank you for your kind comment. Those stilettoes are the reason why I got to get my butt up and get to moving! LOL πŸ€£πŸ˜πŸ˜‚ I don’t wear them as often as I used to, but believe it or not, they actually help with my posture. Go figure! πŸ€—πŸ‘ πŸ˜„ I appreciate ya!

  4. Michele my Belle, thank you for making me smile today. πŸ€—πŸ’–πŸ˜Š I loved the challenge and loved reading what moves everyone else. You have allowed us to “move” (no pun intended) to a whole new way of thinking about what moves us, and how FANtabulous is that? You are so encouraging and on it my Dancing Queen! Speaking of which, it’s break time and you know what that means??? πŸ‘―β€β™€οΈπŸŽΆπŸ’ƒπŸ½ Hugs and smooches my inspiring dance partna’!

  5. Living as I do right now, unable to walk out of visual range of my van and possessions, I’m missing my usual healthful strolls. But I’m getting all kinds of back and upper body exercise climbing around inside this minivan, raising and lowering curtains and windows, and relocating the solar panel with sun motion. Missing my power steering right now & having to lift the hood (!) every time I stop and start it to isolate its battery contributes to that workout also.

Here’s hoping things get more normal again someday & I can go back to dancing (on my walking stick) ~ like yourself, that is my ultimately favorite exercise!

  18. Love your sneakers, Kym, and your heels are spectacular! I don’t wear them anymore if I want to avoid falling on my face! And a desk peddler? I’ve never heard of those, but how awesome is that while working at your desk! My head must be in the sand. πŸ™‚ The video is great for moving too! 19. Oh my goodness Lauren, thanks a million dollbaby. Actually, that peddler belonged to my husband and since it was collecting dust I nabbed it and he didn’t even miss it! LOL πŸ€£πŸ˜œπŸ˜‚ I don’t wear my stiletoes as much as I used to, but they are great for my posture! Wink-wink! 😜 Anywho, glad you like my colorful kicks. Such extremes are what move me. I was not born a regular child, LMBO! And dancing is part of my break time throughout the day. I need some funky music to make me get up and shake my groove thing. Hugs and smooches to you my dear. πŸ’ƒπŸ»πŸŽΆπŸ‘―β€β™€οΈπŸŽ΅πŸ’ƒπŸ½
